Our Founders
Creating a foundation for Davie County was one of six goals of the Quality of Life Task Force report from the Davie Futures Committee. Six visionary gentlemen decided it was an idea worth pursuing: Bert Bahnson, John Brock, Peter Hairston, George Martin, Kent Mathewson, and R.C. Smith.
Davie Community Foundation started in 1988 with a gift of $500 from George Martin.
