Zach Green – Community Scholarship – 2010
Davie County born and raised, Zach Green graduated from Davie County High School in 2010 and attended Appalachian State University that fall where he majored in risk management and insurance through the Walker College of Business. Following graduation, Zach launched his career as a Claims Adjuster with AIG in Charlotte, NC. In 2022, he moved to Amerisure Insurance as a Claims Specialist. Zach truly enjoys what he does and plans to continue working in the insurance industry for many years to come.
Zach credits his internship experience at Johnson Insurance, a local Davie County insurance company, as the solidification needed that he was on the right career path. This experience gave him the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job practice and learn more about what a typical day in the role is like.
Zach received the Community Scholarship in 2010 which financially assisted with his college education. He attributes his success to not only his academic achievements but also to his unwavering work ethic and determination to excel in his field. He emphasizes the importance of networking and building connections, advice he eagerly shares with aspiring students and young professionals. Zach also advises to “Take advantage of all resources and opportunities that Davie County High School and the community has to offer. Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone to gain knowledge and develop new skills.”
In 2023, he married his wife, Mallori, and they now reside in Huntersville, North Carolina. He maintains strong ties to his roots in Davie County, frequently returning to spend time with friends and family. Zach’s journey is a testament to the rewards of pursuing one’s passion with determination and the value of community connections.
