Bobby Staley Memorial Band Scholarship
Bobby Staley’s life was cut short by a motorcycle accident. He was a Winston-Salem police officer and Army National Guard officer who left behind a wife and two young daughters.
While a student at Davie High School, Bobby was a well-rounded, well-liked young man who did well in school and participated in many school and community activities; much like his daughters Allison and Jill do today.
Bobby enjoyed Scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He loved his time with the Marching Band and in 1989 received the John Phillips Sousa Award. During college Bobby played trumpet for the Western Carolina Marching Catamounts.
Bobby’s family created the Bobby Staley Memorial Band Scholarship in his memory and chose to recognize a member of the band because of the great enjoyment he and daughter Allison received from their time with the Davie High School band.
The Bobby Staley Memorial Band Scholarship is available to a well-rounded Davie High School senior who participated and was active in band.
