Adrianna Barber Scholarship
A rising senior at Davie County Early College High School, Adrianna Barber believed in her community and did her part to make it better. She died on July 7, 2019 in an automobile accident.
In 2018, Adrianna received a SURF Board grant through the Davie Community Foundation to provide bags of snacks, hygiene products, candy, goodies, and index cards with Bible verses to the children who are served by the Dragonfly House. The goal of Adrianna and her classmates was to be uplifting, supportive, and spread the love of Jesus. This is one of many examples of Adrianna’s character. She was a helper, a friend, an advocate, and a bright personality. She was passionate about volunteering with Camp Manna and she was an advocate for accepting differences and treating everyone she met the same.
To carry on Adrianna’s bright and compassionate legacy, her family directed memorials to the Adrianna Barber Fund. It was so important to Adrianna’s family that her scholarship be awarded for the first time to one of the Class of 2020, her graduating class. The scholarship will be a happy reminder of Adrianna’s sweet spirit as her scholarship helps another student.
The Adrianna Barber Fund Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who has shown an ability to persevere through some type of personal adversity. The application to apply is by invitation only.
