Office & Communications Officer Job Description
The Davie Community Foundation Office & Communications Officer is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Foundation office; including communications within the Foundation and with the community at large, and for handling marketing of the Foundation to the community. The position reports to the President.
The Office & Communications Officer will work 20 – 24 hours per week at an agreed upon pay rate. The position is considered part-time and receives no benefits. There is opportunity for growth.
All staff of the Davie Community Foundation are expected to learn about the organization and work collaboratively for the benefit of the organization and the community we serve.
Office & Communications Officer Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises day to day operations of the office.
- Amicably receives and assists visitors and callers. Provides general information to the public about the Davie Community Foundation mission and programs.
- Gains a basic knowledge of the FIMS software used by the Foundation.
- Executes the Marketing Plan:
- Materials for publicity, Facebook posts, Constant Contact messages
- Website updates and changes in resource information for the community
- External communications, articles, and advertising
- Provide support for CEO, Grants, Scholarships, Pearls of Empowerment, and SURF Board Youth Grantmakers
- Maintains all official records and files (paper and electronic), including the Community Foundation’s policy handbook, and all donor, grant, property, board, and fund files.
- Provides back-office support for Foundation special events and programs, such as the Red-Carpet Reception/Scholarships, Sounds of Summer, and POPSICLE 5K.
- Ensures smooth functioning of the office, including the ordering and maintenance of all office supplies and equipment.
- Upholds and promotes the mission and values of the Davie Community Foundation.
- Willingly performs other duties as needed and/or requested.
It is the policy of the Davie Community Foundation that any cash received is first counted with the donor delivering it. Once the total is agreed upon, cash is to be deposited on the day it was received.
