Davie County Schools received $600 for their Inclusive Play, Stronger Community Grant. South Davie Middle School is enhancing student engagement and well-being by introducing large outdoor yard games, including Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, and Tic Tac Toe/Checkers. Grant funds will support the purchase and secure storage of these durable games, which will be used during PE, lunch, classroom brain breaks, and SEL activities. The project promotes teamwork, social-emotional learning, and physical activity, providing inclusive play opportunities for all students, including those who may not participate in traditional sports. This initiative will benefit 528 students and 50 staff members while strengthening school culture and student connections.
