Pearls Award Grants at Annual Meeting
Pearls of Empowerment shattered their annual meeting attendance record Thursday, November 13th, as they celebrated The Magic of Giving at First United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Fall Lunch and Learn “Aging Gracefully with Our Minds”, September 2014 Event
Pearls of Empowerment hosted a Lunch & Learn Thursday September 18 with 44 participants. Debbie Barr, certified health education specialist (CHES) working in geriatric research at the Sticht Center on Aging at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, presented an excellent program. Spring Lunch and Learn “Aging Gracefully with Exercise”, March 2014 Event
Wearing their comfortable clothes, the Pearls of Empowerment members and friends came to eat lunch and to learn new ways to exercise on March 19th. After a boxed lunch catered by Savory Spoon, participants listened to Kim Crawford, a yoga instructor at Davie Senior Service Center in Mocksville and at Sunrise Yoga in Clemmons, explain how back pain led her to begin yoga.
