A key feature in the amenities of the park will be the largest Vortex Splashpad in North Carolina. |Smart Start||The Be Active Kids Initiative suggests that physical activity is on the decline across the state with North Carolina having the 23rd highest childhood obesity rate in the nation. Presenting a hands-on activity to families in an exciting and interactive environment such as KidsFest followed by equipping parents with the Be Active Kids Take Home Activity Kits will allow families to not only see the benefits of active play but also feel the positive impact of living an active life. Kits will help families implement high-quality physical activity at home.||$2,400|
|South Davie Middle School||As obesity becomes an increasingly urgent issue in the country, "Rethink Your Drink" will encourage the South Davie Middle School student body to make healthy choices. Ensuring that students have access to safe, free drinking water throughout the school gives them a healthy alternative to sugar sweetened beverages before, during, and after school. Two Water Bottle Filling Stations will be installed that function as normal fountains, but also include a spot for hands-free water bottle filling. The installation will coincide with a reusable water bottle giveaway for the SDMS student body.||$4,319|
