Wearing their comfortable clothes, the Pearls of Empowerment members and friends came to eat lunch and to learn new ways to exercise on March 19th. After a boxed lunch catered by Savory Spoon, participants listened to Kim Crawford, a yoga instructor at Davie Senior Service Center in Mocksville and at Sunrise Yoga in Clemmons, explain how back pain led her to begin yoga. Soon she was taking classes to become a yoga instructor. Participants were then given the opportunity to do chair exercises with Kim instructing
Next, Elizabeth Norman, the Outreach Coordinator at Davie Senior Service Center, talked briefly about the classes that she teaches, including line dancing, Silver Health, and morning wake-up. Elizabeth brought several of her students to demonstrate line dancing. At the end of the presentation, Elizabeth gave participants a chance to sign-up for Davie Senior Service Center.
