Davie Community Foundation President, Jane Simpson is in training! Jane issued a challenge to the Davie County SURF Board: If they raise $5K for their upcoming Popsicle 5K Race, she will run in the race! If they raise $10K, she will run the race wearing the Popsicle Man Costume! Wouldn’t you love to see Jane run?
The SURF Board Students have taken the challenge to heart! They are hard at work raising sponsorships for the February 21st race, but they could use a little help. Sponsorships must be in place by January 23rd to appear on the race t-shirt, and race directional signs. If you would like to help the SURF Board reach their challenge and see Jane take to the streets in running attire, you can make a donation! Checks should be payable to The Davie Community Foundation with Popsicle 5K in the memo section.
Funds from the 4th Annual Popsicle 5K will go right back to Davie County! The SURF Board will be seeking proposals for Youth Sponsored Grants to benefit Youth in Davie County. All funds raised through the Popsicle 5K, and Sponsorships go into the SURF Board Grantmaking. So, your donation not only helps the SURF Board reach their goal, but will also make a difference to the young people of Davie County. Thank you for your support!
