A celebration of the many hats women wear was the focus of the Pearls of Empowerment Membership Social Thursday, February 19 at the Granary at WinMock. Sixty-six Pearls and guests enjoyed the time to socialize and meet new friends. It was also a chance to recognize women in our community for all their accomplishments and community involvement. Guests and Pearls were treated to door prizes provided by several local businesses, as well as delicious refreshments.
Speaker for the evening, Beth Weatherman, Central Davie Academy Principal and Director of Student Services for Davie County Schools spoke on women’s ability to wear many hats and participate in philanthropy as well. She highlighted the extensive leadership of women within a majority of non-profit organizations in Davie County and pointed out that they were Pearls, participating in a wide variety of philanthropic efforts.
