Pearls of Empowerment hosted a Lunch & Learn Thursday September 18 with 44 participants. Debbie Barr, certified health education specialist (CHES) working in geriatric research at the Sticht Center on Aging at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, presented an excellent program. As the Outreach Liaison for the Aging Center, she
provided information about the brain, Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, the research being done on Alzheimer’s at the Sticht center, and most importantly, the lifestyle choices we all can make to protect and preserve memory as we age.
