Scholarships

The Davie Community Foundation is pleased to administer a Scholarship Program offering professionally administered scholarships benefiting Davie County students.

Students applying for scholarships managed by the Community Foundation must meet the general criteria established by the Foundation Board of Directors. Individual scholarships may also have specific requirements for applicants.

General Applicant Requirements:

• Applicant must be a Davie County resident and a high school graduate (or the equivalent).
• Applicants must attend a 2-year or 4-year accredited college/university on a full-time basis.
• Children and grandchildren of Community Foundation Board and Staff are not eligible for scholarship awards.

GENERAL APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, March 23, 2012
Please note: Application deadlines vary for some of the other scholarships administered by the Foundation which are listed individually below.

High school students:

• Print the scholarship summary/coversheet and check the scholarships you wish to apply for. CHECK ONLY THOSE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WHICH YOU ARE ELIGIBLE.
• Print the general scholarship application and fill out completely.
• Mail both the summary/coversheet and the application to the DCF office at PO Box 546 Mocksville, NC 27028, or fax to (336) 753-6904.

College students:

• Print the scholarship summary/coversheet and check the scholarships you wish to apply for. CHECK ONLY THOSE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WHICH YOU ARE ELIGIBLE.
• Print the application for current college students and fill out completely.
• Mail both the summary/coversheet and the application to the DCF office at PO Box 546 Mocksville, NC 27028, or fax to (336) 753-6904.

• Christian Shane Fleming Memorial Scholarship–available to students who are members of First United Methodist Church, Mocksville.
• Crosby Scholarship- due March 23, 2012 - available to high school seniors.
• CW & Barbara Allen Scholarship- due March 23, 2012 – available to a Davie High School athlete (male or female).
• DC Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship in Memory of Priscilla Clark– due March 23, 2012 - applicants must be a DC resident accepted into an Associate Degree Nursing Program.
• DC Training School & Central Davie HS Reunion Scholarship – due March 23, 2012 - available to high school seniors who are descendants of a Davie County Training School or Central Davie School graduate/attendee.
• Dorothy Rucker Graham Scholarship – due March 23, 2012- available to Davie High seniors who demonstrate academic ability and financial need.
• Hanes Smith Scholarship - due March 23, 2012 - available to Davie High seniors who demonstrate financial need.
• James E. and Leila N. Essic Scholarship– due March 9, 2012 - available to students demonstrating financial need.
• Joe Phillips Memorial Scholarship – due March 23, 2012 – available to high school seniors with a passion for the arts.
• Judge George Fuller Memorial Scholarship - due March 23, 2012 - available to Davie County seniors.
• Louise Stroud & Jessie Stroud Hinkle Music Scholarship- due March 23, 2012 - available to a high school student who will pursue a major or minor in music or a closely related field.
• North Davie Ruritan Community Scholarship– due Feb. 28, 2012 - available to high school students from the William R. Davie Community.
• Samuel S. Foster Nursing Scholarship– due March 23, 2012- available to Davie/Rowan County residents who have been accepted into an Associate Degree Nursing Program and completed two semesters.
