Pearls have the option to share their talents and get to know other members by serving on one or more of the committees listed below.

If you are a Pearl and wish to serve on a committee, e-mail the Davie Community Foundation office at mcheek@daviefoundation.org and we will get you in touch with the chairperson of your desired committee.

Grant Committee
The Grants Committee will be responsible for running the grant cycle as well as assisting with outcome tracking with grantees. The grants committee will design and distribute the grant materials, finalize the grant schedule and process, plan and facilitate grant overview sessions, screen the initial grant applications, attend site visits, develop and present the slate to the Executive Committee and membership,compile grant applications packets for the membership, and develop and administer a voting system.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee will be responsible for tracking membership, greeting new members, sending thank you letters upon receiving membership contributions, and leading recruitment events and membership socials.

Events Committee
The Events Committee will be responsible for securing locations, décor, entertainment, and food/beverages for educational forums and the annual meeting held each November.

Education Committee
The Education Committee will assist the Leadership Team in choosing pertinent topics for each education forum and will secure qualified presenters/speakers for them.  Additionally, it will secure the resources and equipment needed to enhance the presentations.  It will also develop the agendas for the education forums and assist the Pearls of Empowerment chairperson in moderating the forums.  Finally, it will provide handwritten notes of thanks to all invited forum presenters.

Marketing Committee
The Marketing Committee will be responsible for preparing newsletters for the membership, distributing any membership materials to potential members, identifying critical talking points to be passed on to the media, writing and distributing press releases, acting as the ‘logo police’, and preparing event materials. Temporary Work Groups
The Temporary Work Groups will assemble as needed to assist with mass mailings, program assembly, phone calls, and various other tasks as needed.
