Ken Dwiggins Steps Down as President and CEO of
The Community Foundation of Davie County
July 14, 2003

Mr. Ken Dwiggins, retired executive of the Ford Motor Company, stepped down as President and CEO of The Community Foundation of Davie County. Ken has served the Foundation in the capacity of President since August 2000 when he and Mocksville attorney Sally Smith, Chairman, agreed to serve at the helm of the Davie County Foundation.

Ken worked tirelessly to build community awareness of the Foundation, organize procedures and increase Foundation assets. He was instrumental in the successful completion of the Mebane Challenge Grant for operating funds which required 100% participation by the Board of Directors along with community participation. Successful completion of this challenge allowed the Foundation to hire its first staff, executive director Jane Simpson, in April 2003. Ken led by example by making a gift to the Foundation Unrestricted Fund and by donating furniture to set up the Foundation office located at 232 S. Main Street in Mocksville. "I very much want to see The Community Foundation of Davie County become the cornerstone for good things in our community; an avenue for charitable giving by our citizens and a source for needy causes in our county," stated Ken.

Ken will remain on the Board of Directors to serve a 3-year term. He will be replaced as President and CEO by current executive director, Jane Simpson. To learn more about The Community Foundation of Davie County, contact Jane Simpson at (336) 753-6903 or jsimpson@daviefoundation.org .
